Eastern Rail Corridor Plan

Author: eMB
Date: 01 Oct 2006

TfL have now completed their Eastern Rail Corridor Plan (RCP), which is intended to be a detailed review of transport needs and possible solutions along a particular rail corridor – in this case the routes from Liverpool Street and Fenchurch Street stations.  The various stakeholder engagement meetings were attended by a number of representatives from the WARG and the solutions identified were broadly supported.

The Eastern RCP looked at the issues for the West Anglia Routes and proposed several solutions:

  • High capacity rolling stock
  • Increased train lengths
  • Higher service frequencies, particularly via Stratford
  • Two new tracks from Cheshunt to Tottenham Hale

The Eastern RCP is intended to inform TfL’s Transport 2025 work and a more detailed submission to Spending Review 2007.
